Local Hockey "Stars" Shine On the Ice At Abe Stark Arena

Rockaway locals are enjoying their season with the area's only travel hockey program. With their home ice at the landmark Abe Stark Arena in Coney Island, the Greater NYC Ice Hockey League is celebrating its 40th year of offering youth hockey programs.

Our Rockaway players along with fellow mites from Brooklyn and Staten Island have played at Madison Square Garden, participated in a tournament in Hershey at the Old Hershey Arena and hosted a first annual Holiday Tournament with the squirts at Abe Stark. They will cap-off their season at the CanAm tournament on Olympic ice in Lake Placid!

In addition to the travel program, the GNYCIHL also offers a house program. Registration for the Spring House program will take place at Abe Stark Rink on Saturday Feb 24 from 8 a.m. to noon. Information about the league and its programs can be found at www.gnycihl.com.
