Weiner Hosts Screening,'Climate Crisis'Discussion

Congressman Anthony Weiner has announced that he is inviting Rockaway residents to join him for a screening of Al Gore's Documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" on Sunday, February 25 at 2:00pm.

Following the showing of the controversial film there will be a discussion with leading environmental scientists and policy experts facing the Climate Crisis (a look at the science and the solutions).

Both the screening and the panel discussion that follows will be held at Queens College in the Colden Auditorium, 65-30 Kissena Boulevard in Flushing.

The panel discussion will be hosted by Weiner, who is a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee and on the Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality.

Joining Weiner will be panelists: Marcia Bystryn: Executive director of the New York League of Conservation Voters, Dr. Bill Chamiedes: Chief Scientist of Environmental Defense, Luis Martinez: An attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Professor Stephen Pekar: Queens College.
