Shots Fired Through Redfern Window

A number of shots were fired through the window of a building in the Redfern Houses in Far Rockaway at about 2 p.m. on February 20, police say. Police officers spread out through the sprawling housing complex right on the Nassau County border and checked local hospitals, but could not find a victim of the shooting. Police responded to the Ocean Bay Houses and the Hammel Houses as well, as part of a peninsula-wide plan to stop gang-related shootings. Pictured, an officer from the NYPD's Emergency Services Unit (ESU) shows another officer a bullet fragment he dug out of a window frame at 15-44 Hassock Street.
