St Camillus 6th Grade CYO Clinch Playoff Berth

The St Camillus Bantam Boys Basketball team defeated Our Lady of Grace 30-20 this past Saturday at home to end their regular season. The scoring was led by Anthony Laporta Jr., who had 11 points and Sean O'Connell with 9. Wayde Neblett scored 5 points and Will Knight and Dennis Nee each had 2 pts.

Tristan Nevirs chipped in a free throw to close out the scoring. The boys in their first season playing together finished with an 8-6 CYO record.

Over the Christmas holiday they competed in the St Francis Christmas Tourney. After a strong win over Good Shepherd, they were eliminated in a nail-biter against St Thomas More. Sean O'Connell and Anthony Laporta Jr were selected for All-Tournament awards and Bryan Brennen was picked for Sportsmanship award. The team will be competing in the St Mary Gate of Heaven Tournament starting this Saturday Feb 17 when they face Our Lady of the Snows.

The following week they will have their first CYO playoff game. The team and coaches would like to thank Mr. Peter Maguire Sr. and PEM Construction Co. for their generous support and sweatsuits for the team.

The team mourns the passing of Charles "Chucky" Wilson, who coached some of the boys at St. Virgilius.
