Woman Injured In ATM Robbery At Arverne Bank

An unidentified local woman was injured on Wednesday, February 14, when a man wielding a knife accosted her at the ATM outside of the Bank of America branch in Arverne and demanded her money. Police say that the woman gave up $360 to the still-unidentified man but was cut slightly on the neck. She was transported to Peninsula Hospital Center, where she was reportedly treated and released. The robber fled in an old-model sports utility vehicle north on Beach 67 Street, where police think, he hit another car and fled. Pictured, police and EMS officials outside the bank at Beach 66 Street and Beach Channel Drive at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, just after the assault and robbery.

Police officers and detectives look for clues at the Bank of America's ATM machine. Detectives from the 100 Precinct Squad are investigating.
