Sanders Offers Immigration Services
Councilman James Sanders Jr. is offering free immigration services to Rockaway residents. The services are available on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 21-23 Birdsall Avenue.
Councilman Sanders allocated $150,000 to the Federation of African Caribbean and American Organizations, to set up immigration counseling and advocacy services, free of charge, to residents in the 31st District.
There will be free legal assistance by an attorney to prepare and file papers and to accompany immigrants at court appearances and administrative hearings. Other services include counseling and assistance with citizenship/naturalization, green cards/ visa petitions, asylum assistance, employment authorization, legal assistance, and immigrant juvenile status.
