The Blood Drive, coordinated by school nurse Kathy DeMello in conjunction with the New York Blood Center, was quite successful as it collected more than 100 pints of blood.

Nurse DeMello stated that she was "proud of the students who participated by either donating or helping at the drive. Over 100 students understood the importance of giving blood and were willing to donate." The students wanted to be able to do something during Thanksgiving because they are thankful for their family, friends and school community. They are grateful for everything they have and wanted to do something that would benefit those in need. Matthew Leardi, a senior at the Prep, said that he is "blessed with so much in his life that giving blood was a simple way of doing something for others." Students were given T-shirts that they were allowed to wear to school the following day.
