Special Traffic Advisory For Crossbay Bridge

As part of the ongoing Cross Bay Bridge rehabilitation work, the pedestrian walkway will be closed from December 3, 2007 to October 3, 2008.

During this 10-month period, a free shuttle bus service will be available for pedestrians and bicyclists, seven days a week and 14 hours a day, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The bus will operate at 15- minute intervals. There will be two marked bus stops as follows: on the Rockaway side of the bridge, at South Beach 92 Street adjacent to the entrance to the closed pedestrian ramp; and in Broad Channel, on the south curb of Van Brunt Street, adjacent to the entrance of the closed pedestrian ramp.

The vehicle will be able to carry 11 passengers at a time, and will be equipped with a bicycle rack with mounting capacity for four bicycles.
