Sponsored by the New York City Police Department and Health Plus, the November 3 Redfern Family Day event gave police and those who live in the complex a chance to get better acquainted. It also featured free giveaways such as hats, school supplies, crayons, coloring books and free food.

In addition, the city's Parks Department set up a roller-skating rink and a DJ provided music throughout the afternoon.

Residents enjoyed free food and face painting during the four-hour event. Residents enjoyed free food and face painting during the four-hour event.
