Dog About Town, Rocket, won first place in the small dog category. Small dogs. Big dogs. Shaggy dogs. Shorthaired dogs. Dogs and their humans from all over the peninsula attended ARF ARF's K-9 Kostume Karnival at the Rockaway Freeway Park Dog Run on Beach 81 Street last weekend. Prizes were awarded for best costumes for small sized and large sized dogs.
Along with ARF ARF, Allied Rockaway Foundation for Animal Recreation and Fitness, the city's Parks and Recreation Department also sponsored the October 27 event.

This little prisoner must have been thinking, "They told me I was going to be free, but I am still on a leash." Gabriella's dog Patches was dressed in pink for their day in the park. Jay Harrison, his girlfriend Deli, and Clipper, or should we say Dracula, joined in the fun. Frank and Fran Krakowski went home double winners, as Schmoopy "the pumpkin" and Scruffy "dogzilla" won first place and honorable mention for large dogs in the costume contest.
