Parade Fundraiser Kicks Off

The Queens County St. Patrick's Day parade kicks off its fundraising season with a dance on Saturday, November 10 from 7 to 11 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, at 333 Beach 90 Street.

James Callahan, business manager of Local 15 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, has been selected as Grand Marshal for the 33rd parade. Rockaway resident Larry McDermott, who is a supervising member of Local 46 of the Metallic Lathers Union, is the honorary Grand Marshal. Deputy Grand Marshals will include: Patrick Kelly, New York State court officer; William Kinane, Breezy Point Cooperative member; James McVeigh, retired NYPD officer and member of St. Camillus Special Olympics; Dr. David Lichenstein; Monsignor Brown, Pastor of St. Francis de Sales; Kevin Lewis, member of NYC Department of Sanitation; Grace Toland, parade committee member; registered nurse, Dianne Willaum, well known community activist; Ed Wilkinson, Tablet newspaper; and Jane Deacy, Republican district leader.
