Gun Deaths Are An Epidemic

Dear Editor,

During the past decade, we have witnessed our youth (and not so young) dying daily, mostly from gun violence than from all natural causes of death combined. It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to find a solution to this problem, but it seems to be one of the most difficult ones to resolve. I believe that our youth (and not so young) must come together and address this "epidemic" that claims the lives of their peers and other loved ones. It's obvious we (parents, law enforcement, elected officials, etc.) don't have the answer, so why not go directly to the source, and "together" find a solution. Let's stop asking each other "why", and unite to find a solution to end this nightmare. We've heard enough about the Second Amendment, and we've heard enough about illegal guns! I want to know why our youth and not so young are killing each other? Apparently, only they can tell us, and "together" we can find a solution to stop this nonsense. Let's break bread together and end this cruel and brutal act.

Please join us on Saturday, November 10, 2007 for a "Stop Gun Violence: Breakfast Forum" at the Rochdale Village Community Center, Room #5 (169-65 137th Avenue, Jamaica, New York) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to help save the lives of the next generation, and those to come. All invited, especially the youth! For more info, please call 718-276-5802.
