Three Far Rockaway Locals Compete for the Miss Teen NYC/Long Island Title

Letiece White Letiece White Letiece White, Yubelis Garcia and Danica Bucknor, all Far Rockaway residents, were recently selected to participate in Nationals' 2007 Miss Teen NYC/Long Island pageant competition that will take place on November 11. They will be competing for their share of over $20,000 in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. White, Garcia and Bucknor will be competing in the Miss Teen division, one of the three divisions that will have young ladies between the ages of 10 and 19 competing in modeling routines which include casual wear and formal wear. They will also display their personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year's NYC/ Long Island judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.

The winner of the title of Miss Teen NYC/Long Island will represent NYC/ Long Island and the surrounding communities at the Cities of America National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Florida. Over $60,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the National Competition, while each winner enjoys an expense-paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando, Florida.

Yubelis Garcia Yubelis Garcia Community businesses, organizations, and private individuals will assist the contestants in participating in this year's competition by becoming official sponsors.
