Far Rockaway The Forgotten

Dear Editor,

While Arverne, Rockaway Beach, and Rockaway Park are being revitalized, Far Rockaway is rapidly declining. The bulk of houses built by United Homes, has become an eye sore.

Try going on Seagirt Avenue between Beach 29 Street and Beach 32 Street; those so-called houses are only two years old and it has turned into a complete ghetto. The residents on the West End are getting new roads, flowered streets and beautiful homes; not Far Rockaway - we're getting cheap homes (United Homes), bought by greedy landlords who rent them out to section 8 tenants - with no upkeep. What a sin! Even the closure of the roads is becoming a problem. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for improvement, but its very chaotic; especially for those of us going to work in the a.m., but the local cops are there to give us tickets if we fail to stop at a stop sign that wasn't there two days ago.
