Chamber Of Commerce,RDRC Go to Washington
Representatives of the Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation and Rockaway Chamber of Commerce traveled to Washington, D.C. on Friday, September 28, to participate in a conference hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). The Rockaway delegation included: Linda Plummer, RDRC Board President; Alan Camhi, Chamber of Commerce Board President; Betty Leon, RDRC Board Member; Kevin Alexander, RDRC Executive Director; and Valerie West, RDRC Director of Community Relations.
The CBC organization, founded in 1970, is comprised of African-American members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The five-day conference featured a number of seminars focused on economic development, social justice, educational advancement, and career development in the 21st century.
