Construction Work Begins Anew At Rite-Aide Pharmacy

Workers came back to 106-40 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, a site where a Stop Work Order had been issued by the city's Department of Buildings On August 27. At that time, DOB officials told The Wave that the steel girders on the planned Rite-Aide Pharmacy building were not as planned. At press time, it was unclear as to whether or not the Stop Work Order had been lifted. To do that, the contractor must amend the plans to conform to the work done or tear the structure down and bring it in line with the approved plans. The city agency did not return numerous calls and e-mails asking for information about the construction site. Pictured, lone worker sits on the steel skeleton as others work below to put cisterns in place.
