Pee Wee Shamrocks Shut Down East Meadow Rams

The BCAC Pee Wee Shamrocks hosted the East Meadow Rams this past Sunday at Memorial Field.

Captains Robert Kollmer, Cameron Manzi, Bobby Martin, Christian Paulich and Jordan Jessup called the toss and elected to have the ball in the second half.

The Shamrock Defense started strong led by Safeties Luke Hanning, Bobby Martin; Linebackers Anthony Cimino, Steven Kenny, Robert Kollmer; Defensive End Jordan Jessup and Michael Torres; Defensive Line Patrick Minihane, Charlie Bostwick, Mario Cimino, Liam Malsy, Matt Ostrander, Dionte Scott, Richie Wood, Manzi, Michael Krzyzanowski and Kyle Hilgendorf.

BCAC made the first big play of the game. On 2nd and 10, Bostwick stripped the Ram QB causing a fumble that was recovered by Jessup. The fans were screaming "Go Shamrocks" as the offense came out for their first possession led by Quarterback Mario Cimino; Runningbacks Danny Hoff, Jessup, Kollmer; Wide Receiver Theo Stathis; Tight End Paulich; Offensive Linemen Kyle Hilgendorf, Tyler Runolfsson, Krzyzanowski, Anthony Russo, Keith Servello, CJ Galimi and Bostwick.

Cimino, Kollmer and Jessup found open space through excellent blocking. On 4th and 9 from the Rams 11- yard line, Hoff took the handoff and made a sweep down the sidelines for an 11 yard touchdown. Jessup passed to Servello for the extra point.

The Rams responded by running the ball to the Shamrocks 11- yard line The Shamrocks tried to make a stand but on 3rd and 4, the Ram QB scored on a busted play to tie the game at 7-7.

The Shamrock Offense put together an impressive drive led by Stathis and Hoff, which set up a first and goal from the 10-yard line. Jessup ran up the middle and broke several tackles for a touchdown with Cimino scoring on a QB keeper for the extra point to take a 14-7 lead.

With one minute remaining, the Shamrock Defense of Kollmer and Bostwick each sacked the QB and the whole defensive line held the Rams as the half ended

The Shamrocks offense opened the third quarter with their most impressive drive of the season. Kollmer (17 yards rushing), Paulich (14 yards) and Jessup all ran up the middle, gaining yardage, and running time off the clock. The drive ended when Hoff ran into the end zone for a three-yard touchdown and a 21-7 lead.

East Meadow struck back with a delayed run by the Rams QB, which led to a 62 yard touchdown and cut the Shamrock lead to 21-14.

The Offense needed to score and after a few penalties, BCAC got the opportunity to score. Hoff followed his big offensive line and broke several tackles for a 70 yard touchdown. Theo Stathis scored the extra point on a QB keeper to increase the lead to 28-14.

BCAC's defense was key all day as Charlie Bostwick (2 sacks) led a team effort to force a Ram punt.

The offense ran the clock down with the help of Stathis, Jessup, Kollmer and Luke Hanning and the Shamrock won the game, 28-14.

The coaches are proud of their team as the players bounced back from their previous loss on the final play of the game. The Shamrocks gave 100% effort on the field.

The Pee Wee Shamrocks travel to Valley Stream for an 11 a.m. game on Sunday, October 14.
