BCAC Shamrock Peanuts Battle Strong Against Oyster Bay

The Broad Channel Athletic Club Shamrock Peanut white team hosted the Oyster Bay Rough Riders last weekend.

After an Opening drive score for the Rough Riders, the Shamrocks regrouped and gave the Oyster Bay team a rough ride the rest of the afternoon.

Oyster Bay were held scoreless the remainder of the day due in part to superb line play from the Shamrock' s tough defense; Johnny Walsh, Timothy McCabe, James and Christian Agoglia, James Carson, Jack Collins Michael McManus and Dillon Ostrander.

The defensive backs were equally impressive with outstanding tackles from Aidan Smith, Phoenix Parker, John Mullally, Christian Appel and John Baroudos.

On offense, the Shamrocks made some impressive drives of their own. Opening huge holes in the Oyster Bay line were Robert Baldiran, John Walsh, Bryan Bostwick, John Mullen, McCabe, and Baroudos.

This allowed the Shamrock backfield to penetrate deep into Rough Rider territory numerous times. The long backfield runs were carried out by McCabe, Mullally, Baroudos, and Smith.

Late in the third quarter, the Shamrocks executed the perfect play. The offensive line fired off the ball pushing the Rough Riders back.

QB Aidan Smith made a flawless hand off to RB Christian Appel, who followed the lead blocking back John Walsh off tackle, and raced 60 yards for a Shamrock touchdown.

We would like to thank our teammate Ian Byrne, who is always with us though and through as he is currently on the injured reserve list. Next week, the Shamrocks Peanut team will travel to Bethpage for a 9 a.m. Sunday game.

When the Shamrocks play their next home game, make sure and stop by the Shamrock tent located inside the front gate. People will be pleased to see the exciting line of Shamrock Gear for sale.

Those who attend already come down know how much fun it is and thanks for coming to support the team. Share the fun with a friend and let's get more kids involved in this program for next year.
