Diabetes Expo 9/29 At Javits Center
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) invites the community to experience a comprehensive array of diabetes related products, services and information at the free New York City Diabetes Expo. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 29 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, located on 11 Avenue between 34 and 39 Streets in Manhattan. The Diabetes Expo is geared for anyone affected by diabetes and those interested in learning more about healthy eating and active living. Visitors can take advantage of free health screenings, fitness information, cooking demonstrations, exciting speakers and workshops, and exhibits featuring the latest products and services. Health care professionals will be on hand to answer individual questions.
Attendees will also discover Senior World, offering specialized information for seniors living with diabetes. The Cultural Diversity World is home to lively entertainment, as well as bilingual speakers and informational materials.
The ADA World offers a bookstore and information on ADA advocacy, educational programs and special events. The Youth Zone will provide child-centered diabetes education and keep children entertained with face painting, games, balloons and clowns.
