Expecting? Get Prepared With Childbirth Classes

If you are expecting, childbirth classes may help you get ready. Taught by certified, prepared childbirth educators, the classes will be held in three sessions on Wednesday September 5, 12, and 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. The hospital is located at 327 Beach 19 Street in Far Rockaway, and classes will be conducted in the hospital board room.

Learning what to expect with Caesarean delivery, pain medications, and the warning signs of preterm labor are just some of the topics covered at these classes for pregnant women and their coaches. Other topics the classes will cover include breathing, relaxation exercises, exercises for pregnant women, nutrition, breast and bottle-feeding, stages of labor, post-partum depression, and taking care of yourself and your baby. Fees are very affordable. For registration information, call 718-869-7182.
