Teen Busted For Slashing Far Rockaway Friend
Police from the 101 Precinct arrested a teenager last week for slashing his friend's head with a razor outside the friend's Far Rocaway home.
Police say that Romaine Henry, 16, of Far Rockaway, had an argument with his friend, Nicholas Cochrane, outside of Cochrane's home at 16-04 Caffrey Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. on July 19, and that Henry pulled a razor from his pocket and repeatedly cut Cochrane around the head.
A spokesperson for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown told The Wave that Henry was arraigned on July 20 on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.
He was released on his own recognizance for his next court date, which was set for August 15.
Cochrane was transported to St. John's Episcopal Hospital with several deep lacerations that required fifteen staples to close.
He was treated and released at the hospital.
Police say that they have no information on what caused the argument or why Henry allegedly assaulted Cochrane.
