St. John's Responds To Blood Shortage

Since the New York Blood Center recently announced its supply has reached critical, emergency levels, St. John's Episcopal Hospital is trying to help. They will be holding a blood drive Thursday, August 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the hospital boardroom.

Donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. For those over 75, a physician's letter is required for donation. Hospital staff asks that donors bring photo identification, eat at regular mealtimes and drink lots of fluids before coming in.

St. John's is located at 327 Beach 19 Street in Far Rockaway. For more information, please call 718-869- 7326.
