Bishop Graduates With Honors
Nadia Bishop recently graduated with a Regents Honors diploma and a grade point average of 95. She was also the recipient of the Association of Teachers of French award for excellence in French studies.
Bishop has participated in several community service projects since the age of 4, when she began working with Kevin Wilder, formerly from the Broadway show "Cats," in a group called Positively Positive Entertainment for Kids. This group presented events such as fashion shows, Stop the Violence and Black History programs, gospel singing, acting and dancing at schools, churches and community centers in and out of Rockaway. The organization received positive reviews for their work. Bishop also auditioned at the Apollo Theater's children's section. She has worked on an art gallery website since 2004, where her work is displayed and critiqued. Bishop was accepted at Brooklyn College, SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology, and the School of Visual Arts' Department of Cartooning, the latter of which she has chosen to attend in the fall.
