Lynfield Honored At Memorial Medical Conference

The Department of Internal medicine of St. John's Episcopal Hospital held the Joshua Lynfield, MD, Memorial Conference on June 22, 2007. The conference was held "To honor Dr. Lynfield's dedication and achievements at St. John's," according to Dr. Sheldon Markowitz, the chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Lynfield was a cardiologist at the hospital and passed away on February 11, 2007. At the memorial, his wife, Dr. Yelva Lynfield, accepted a plaque in his honor and their daughter, Dr. Ruth Lynfield, delivered the Grand Rounds Lecture entitled "Emerging Infectious Diseases at Home and Abroad." Dr. Ruth Lynfield is the medical director and interim state epidemiologist of the Minnesota Department of Health, as well as an adjunct and associate professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota.
