A's Crowned Comeback Kings At Sorrentino Little League

Photo By Miriam Rosenberg. Another set of exciting games occurred last Saturday in the second week of the Sorrentino Recreational Center/Health Plus/Police Athletic League 2007 Little League season.

In the Bantam Division (9-12 year old), the New York Yankees defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 16-3, in the first game held at 9:30 a.m. The Yankees are coached by Daniel Reina and Issac Parsee is the head coach for the Reds.

The second game of the day featured the New York Mets, coached by Ray Desmarets, beating the Chicago White Sox, 7-3. The White Sox are coached by Stan Brown.

The afternoon set of Junior Division (13-15 years old) games started with the Cubs, who beat the Yankees 3-1. Chciago is coached by Issac Parsee and Robert Lindo coaches New York.

A thriller took place in the last game of the day in the Junior Division. In the bottom of the fifth and final inning, the Athletics scrapped back from a 7-5 deficit to beat the White Sox, 8-7. The Oakland Athletics, who is coached by Ray Desmarets, scored three runs in the final inning to defeat the White Sox, who are coached by Stan Brown.

Games resume this weekend starting with two Bantam Division games at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at O'Donahue Park on Beach 17 Street. The Junior Division's two contests will begin at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
