Richard Oswiecimski

Plumber, NYC Housing Authority

Richard Oswiecimski, a Rockaway resident for 20 years coming from Glendale, died July 3.

Oswiecimski was born in Brooklyn. He worked as a plumber for the New York City Housing Authority, and in later years was employed by the National Park Service. Oswiecimski served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Sypulski and Chester Sypulski.

Oswiecimski is survived by his wife, Ann O'Rourke Oswiecimski; son, James Slowey; brother, Theodore Oswiecimski; and sisters, Ann Kupchik and Laura Brennan.

Funeral arrangements and visitation were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church in Rockaway Point. Interment was at St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village.
