WISL Honors Outstanding Women At Awards Luncheon

(WISL) honored community members for demonstrating outstanding community service at its annual awards luncheon, held at Antun's, on Saturday, June 2.

Elsye E. Ashton, Tinnie Tarver Hunter, Florine Jenkins and Ann T. Wilkinson were feted for their work in various churches and community organizations. In addition, four graduating high school students, Brittney C. Adamson of Beach Channel High School, Ronda Field of Lawrence High School, and Akua Owusuwaa and Debinka Worrell of Far Rockaway High School, were honored for exhibiting the attributes of positive role models in areas which include academics, leadership, extracurricular activities and community service.
