PHC Hosts Annual Health Fair Under The Hospital's Big Top


Peninsula Hospital Center, affiliate of the North Shore- Long Island Jewish Health System, hosted its Annual Community Health Fair last Saturday, offering free health screenings, blood pressure testing, cholesterol testing, respiratory testing, and breast health appointments. Additionally, educational materials were supplied on diabetes control, nutritional counseling, cancer care, healthy eating for children and pharmacy consulting and evaluation. This year's Health Fair focused on children's health and there was an abundance of educational materials geared towards the pediatric population 0of the Rockaways. Also on hand was a clown, face-painting, a children's librarian courtesy of the Queens Public Library who conducted very popular reading sessions, balloons, goldfish, coloring, games and prizes and musical entertainment for all the kiddies. Many children "of diverse ages" showed up to participate in all this year's event had to offer.
