RBVL Wades Through Drizzling Mist In Week Three
      Week three of the Rockaway Beach Volleyball League Wednesday night contained mostly calm but cold and partially rainy weather. When you think about it, it was actually almost perfect volleyball weather. Many matches were intense and close battles that shaped the standings in each division.

RSA Announces Student-Athletes Of The Month
      The Rockaway Sports Associations are pleased to announce that they have selected Brandon Suarez and Steve Burnett as their student-athletes of the Month. Suarez, a freshman at Far Rockaway High School and Bennett, a junior at Frederick Douglas Academy VI, have been tremendous additions to the RSA's lacrosse program.

      Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle. Joan McNally aced a hole-in-one and you could hear the roar of approval all over Riis Park. Congratulations to Joan on her second hole-in-one…she also had a hole-in-one 15 several years ago!!

Scholars Academy Lacrosse Raise Victory Sticks High
      On Thursday, May 24, 2007 the Scholars Academy Seawolves had their inaugural lacrosse game at Beach Channel High School. The team that the Scholars Academy faced was Corbin's Crusaders, located in Manhattan. Although the Crusaders were a little bit more experienced than the Seawolves, the Scholars Academy gave it their all and won the game by the final score of 9-4.

Rockapulco Summer Races Commences on Boardwalk
      The Rockapulco Race Series kicked off last Thursday evening with the Bert Robbins Run. The series, which honors local running legends, features a 1/4 mile kids fun run starting at 7:00 p.m. and followed by a 1 mile race and a 5K (3.1 mile) race. Special awards are given to the children at the conclusion of the race.
