Stan's Pepper Steppers Depart to Double Dutch Championships
Stan's Pepper Steppers, the New 2007 New York State Double Dutch Champions, will compete next week at the 34 th Annual American Double Dutch World Invitational Championship.
The Pepper Steppers will travel to the event, held at the Exhibition Center in Sumter, South Carolina, from June 14-16.
They will leave for Sumter, South Carolina on June 13 and will represent the state in this prestigious event. Stan's Pepper Steppers have won 17 out of the last 20 world championships and are currently record holders in the speed category.
The team, coaches and chaperones would like to thank the Sorrentino Recreational Center of the New York City Parks Department for allowing the Pepper Steppers to practice. The Steppers appreciate the generous contributions and the support of the Far Rockaway community.
Stan's Pepper Steppers believes it takes a community to raise a child and we're doing our best to raise thousands.
Little League Opening Day
The Health Plus/PAL/New York City/Parks and Recreation Baseball League will start the 2007 campaign on June 30 at O' Donahue Park on Beach 17 Street.
Players will participate in the 9-12 years old and 13-15 (co-ed) divisions. The winners in each division will represent Queens in the citywide baseball championship. All little league teams, coaches, staff and volunteers represent the Sorrentino Recreational Center.
