Peninsula Hospital Center News
Peninsula Hospital Center, affiliate of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, and Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation (PCECR) recently chose their May Employees of the Month. This month's honorees are Sue Ellen Sullivan, Accounts Receivable Clerk for the Hospital Center and Julianne Solferino, BSW, Social Work Assistant, for the PCECR.
Sullivan has been working at the Hospital Center for the past 18 years. Her co-workers who nominated her for the honor of employee of the month believe her to be extremely caring and understanding in her dealings with all of the patients. They think highly of her vast knowledge in all areas of billing and her ability to solve all of the problems that come her way. She is particularly admired for her dedication to the Hospital Center and taking that extra step to make sure that all of her billing is completed. Everyone who comes in contact with Sue Ellen call her a true professional, one that takes her job very seriously and puts forth the initiative to get the job done.
Solferino, BSW, has been a Social Work Assistant at the PCECR for just over two years. Being nominated by her supervisor, Teresa Ann Orr, the Director of Social Work at PCECR, was quite an honor for this employee of the month. Orr nominated her for this distinction because she feels Solferino is an excellent professional who always shows respect; takes the initiative in her job performance on a daily basis and always shows dedication in all areas of her work. According to Orr, Solferino is "dependable, informative, educated and extremely dedicated ...she stands out as a superb social worker as well as an excellent asset to PCECR."
The Employee of the Month Program is designed to recognize employees who consistently exemplify all aspects of PRIDE (Professionalism, Respect, Initiative, Dedication and Empathy).
