Transit Cops Mark Cell Phones, I-Pods

Transit Auxiliary Patrol Officer Jason Cummings stands at the Rockaway Park Subway Station on Beach 116 Street last weekend, offering a free service to all Rockaway residents. Cummings and his fellow officers from Transit District 23 will mark resident's electronic gadgets such as cell phones and I-Pods with a special code that the NYPD can access in case the devices are lost or stolen. The entire job takes about five minutes to complete and does not harm the devices in any way. TD 23 officers will be available again this weekend to continue the program.Transit Auxiliary Patrol Officer Jason Cummings stands at the Rockaway Park Subway Station on Beach 116 Street last weekend, offering a free service to all Rockaway residents.
