The RAA's four previous exhibitions have drawn record crowds and many first time visitors to the galleries.

With "Planet Animals," the RAA opens its sTudio 7 gallery doors to a menagerie of colorful creatures of every kind. Rendered in oils and acrylics, words and watercolor, stained glass and short film, photography, mixed media and more, this juried show includes animals in all forms and shades of expression. The roster of creature creations cover animals living, extinct and invented, and are all native to either land, air, sea or imagination.

Planet Animals invited artists of all stripes to "bring forth their artistic vision of animals both exotic and domestic, colored by all the mischief, mysticism, mystery and menace they encompass."

Meanwhile, the RAA's sTudio 6 gallery will host a one-of-a-kind one woman show, "The Latest from Shannon Elliott." Artist Shannon Elliott has exhibited her exquisite oil paintings extensively in the upstate New York area and in Rochester, where she is an Associate Professor of studio art and art education at Nazareth College. Using beguiling colors and deceptively simple images that seem to float in the clarity of a dream, Elliott creates a sometimes haunting world within the confines of her canvas. To stand and view her work in the flesh is to know the power of her painting.
