The "Girls Club" from PS 256Q@43 recently completed a two-day stay in the Ecology Village of Floyd Bennett Field in Gateway National Park for a science-oriented camping trip.

Ms. Johnson, Ms. Monaghan, Ms. Randazzo, Ms. Bettina, Ms. Bozzone and Ms. Jones escorted the club and helped students with hands-on science experiments at the camping site. Students successfully completed the experiments, which included measuring the tide and shoreline.

Students demonstrated how wellprepared and informed they were for the camping trip by answering the park ranger's questions and having appropriate conversations with each other about what they were seeing and doing. Prior to leaving, all campers were responsible for recycling and composting all food and garbage.

The school's administration, principal, Mr. Roman and assistant principals Ms. McNulty and Ms. Rudolph, demonstrated a great deal of support for the camping trip.
