All of the city's emergency services took part in a summertime drowning drill at Beach 73 Street and Shore Front Parkway on Monday. Police, fire, medical services and parks department participated as two "victims" were pulled from the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Pictured, a diver readies to enter the ocean from an NYPD copter. Divers from both the NYPD and FDNY participated in the rescue drill. There are a number of real rescues made each beach season at the Rockaway and Riis Park ocean beaches. Police officers, EMS techs, Firefighters and Parks Enforcement Officers join in moving one of the "victims" to safety. Divers bring the other "victim" out of the ocean.
