Pepper Steppers Clinch Berth To Double Dutch Championship

Stan's Pepper Steppers, the world champion Double-Dutch team from the Sorrentino Recreational Center won two awards at the New York City/ State American Double-Dutch League Championship on Saturday May 5, 2007 at I.S. 219 in the Bronx.

The Pepper Steppers won titles in the 8 th grade and high school divisions against other teams from the five boroughs and the rest of New York State. The two victories qualify them to represent New York in the upcoming American Double Dutch World Invitational Championship. That event will take place from June 14 to June 16 at the University Center in Sumter, South Carolina.

The members of the Stan's Pepper Steppers are: Laa'Neisha Jones, Katherine Rocha, Alaisyia Woodard, Peter Alvarez, Robeisha Davis, Monet Davis, Jessica Berrios, Jasmine Hamlet, Terae Walker, Nadine Harrison, Destiny Alvarez, Oksana Bonny, Nikkole Frey, Melissa Nieves, Shakay Burton, Shamera Davis, Niya Dubose and Leah Smith.

Coaches and officials: Stan brown, Linda Brown, Yatte Brown, Carol Walker and Terri Dubose.

There is only one week remaining for registration for the Sorrentino Recreation Center 2007 Little League baseball season.
