On Sunday, May 6, the BCAC/JBLL Sub-Novice Shamrocks from St. Virgilius Parish took on St. Thomas Apostle at the BCAC Memorial Field. The Shamrocks continues to improve on offense, defense and most of all, in character.

The team is four games into the season in the CYO Sub-Novice instructional division.

The kids are learning not only the fundamentals of baseball, but also respecting and supporting one another as well as their opponents. Now to the game highlights!

Once again the "Shamrocks" got strong pitching performances. Peter Keane started the game and tossed three shut-out innings. Southpaw Thomas Collins then followed with two innings of relief, and right hander Matthew Trudden closed the game by pitching the final inning. The trio yielded only four runs and combined for 12 strikeouts!

The fielding also was solid from CJ Gallagher, Charlie Bostwick, and Zack Warner. The Shamrocks scored eight runs on patient at bats and timely hitting from Nick Beradino, Nick Manzi, CJ Gallagher, and Peter Keane.

BCAC closed out the game with strong and improving play by CJ Galimi, Connor Guiseppone, Christopher Guiseppone, and Sean Ryan. Let's always remember that the kids are not only learning the game of baseball, but also building character and respect. Let's PLAY BALL! And have FUN!

GO SHAMROCKS!
