PHC Names Lawrence, Jones As Top Employees
Peninsula Hospital Center and Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation (PCECR) have recently chosen their April Employees of the Month. This month's honorees are Mae Lawrence, a lead patient access representative for the outpatient departments of the Hospital Center and Jewel Jones, LPN, at PCECR.
Mae Lawrence has been working at the Hospital Center for the past 21 years. Co-workers who nominated her for the honor of employee of the month know her to be extremely helpful and kind to all of the patients she comes in contact with. They admire her ability to always remain calm and for displaying the utmost professionalism. She is particularly admired for her "stick-to-it-tiveness" and for going the extra mile to ensure that she makes every referral necessary for a patient. Her superiors agree that she performs her duties most competently and admire her dedication.
Jewel Jones is a Licensed Practical Nurse who works at Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation. Getting ready now to retire, she has spent 14 years as a Peninsula Hospital Employee and 21 years at PCECR for a total of 35 years. Jones has been placed in this honored position as employee of the month because she always goes the extra distance, doing more than what is expected of her. She was nominated by her own supervisor who commends her for always coming into work 30 minutes before her shift, getting along with all of the staff and for taking the initiative to introduce any new staff to the routines.
The Employee of the Month Program is designed to recognize employees who consistently exemplify all aspects of PRIDE (Professionalism, Respect, Initiative, Dedication and Empathy).
