Erin On The Rox
By Erin Baumann
On March 10, The Ladies Auxiliary of the Mayor's Committee held their annual St. Patrick's Day party. The festive Irish celebration included music by DJ Moe, The Breezy Point Pipe and Drum Band and the O'Malley Irish Step Dancers. After the dancers performed they asked for volunteers from the party to help them dance the Seige of Ennis. I was very happy that their teacher called out the directions as the dance can get quite complicated especially when you have had a few spirits. I think it is fair to say that everyone had a great time with almost two hundred of Roxbury residents and friends in attendance. A job well done by my mom and my sister in planning and running the party. On Sunday, April 1, Brian Bauman ran in the annual Scotland 10k in Central Park. He had a personal best of 40:16 and came in 3rd place in his age group. He was 157 overall out of 5700 runners. On April 20, Maryann Hedderson will be performing in a play written by her and directed by Anthony Guerino at the LaMama Club. The performance starts at 10 p.m.. Tickets are $15 for General Admission and $7 for students. For more information please contact the box office at 212-475-7710 or www.lamama.org. Please help Maryann pack the house that night if you are able to head into the city.
