Accident Nearby CBB Leaves Driver Shaken

A National Parks Service employee lost control of his truck last Sunday and plowed into a sign just short of Cross Bay Boulevard at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. The unidentified driver told police from the 100 Precinct that the gas pedal on the truck got stuck in the down position and that he plowed into some brush, a telephone pole and the base of the sign marking the facility. Pictured, the driver sits on the bed of the truck as EMT's check him out. Cross Bay Boulevard can be seen in the background.

Police check the truck, which hit a pole next to the sign announcing the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Police check the truck, which hit a pole next to the sign announcing the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.
