Far Rockaway Celebrates Earth Day
Residents are invited to take part in an Earth Day celebration in Far Rockaway on Saturday, April 28, hosted by Parks and Recreation and The Rockaway Waterfront Alliance. Activities and programs for families and children of all ages will include surf fishing, face painting, a dinosaur dig on beach, volleyball, kite making/flying, planting workshops, solar/science projects and environmental art activities.
All activities are free to the public and intended to raise awareness of the natural resources along the Far Rockaway waterfront area.
The Earth Day celebration will take place on Beach 29 Street at the boardwalk from 12-4 p.m.
A rain date is scheduled for the following day, April 29.
