Emergency Medical Service employee, Lieutenant Peter Jakubowski, along with fellow EMS workers Lieutenant Ed Platt, EMT John Maguire, Paramedic Sean Powers and EMT Josh Brocklan, recently traveled to Ireland to represent New York City in the country's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Jakubowski works in Station 57 on Beach 49 Street in Rockaway. He and his fellow EMS workers paid their own way to visit the Emerald Isle and march in the parade for New York City with the Dublin Fire Brigade. It was Jakubowski's first visit to Ireland.

While overseas, the group did some sightseeing, met with Dublin's ambulance service, and visited a 9/11 memorial in Donadea dedicated to Irish-American FDNY firefighter Sean Tallon.
