P.O. Brust Announces NYPD Retirement
Police Officer Louis "Lou" Brust (second from left) announced Wednesday night that he will soon retire from the NYPD. Brust, who is married and has two sons, will reach the 20-year service mark in late July, 2007. Brust has become a familiar face (with and without the mustache) since being assigned to the precinct's Community Affairs Unit in November, 2004. He made his announcement at the precinct's community council meeting, where he was presented with an appreciation award for his "loyalty and dedication" to the Rockaway community. Standing with him are council board members Loraine Shiel (left), Danny Ruscillo (center), Nancy Woods (second from right) and Kristen McMorrow.
