'Seniors In Shape' To Start In Spring

A free Seniors in Shape program for baby boomers and seniors looking for enjoyable exercises tailor-made for their age bracket will run for eight weeks starting April 12 through May 31 at Aviator Sports and Recreation Complex.

Every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Seniors in Shape will offer a fun-filled day of activities including tai chi, arthritis exercise, weight training, bocce, dance classes, reiki and much more.

Aviator Sports and Recreation will also offer Senior Lunch Specials for participating seniors at $5 with beverage.

Other vendors will be present, including makeover stands, floral arrangement demonstrations, self-discovery mind exercises, and more.

Seniors in Shape has been in contact with senior centers across the peninsula to let them know about the offered programs, according to Susan Lavin, Event Planner and Director of Seniors in Shape. A full list of times and class schedules will be available soon.
