James Richard Campbell Jr.

Maintenance Engineer

James Richard Campbell Jr., a longtime Rockaway resident, died March 10.

Campbell, a maintenance engineer, was born in Laurinburg, North Carolina on December 5, 1941. According to family members, his greatest joys were recreational gaming, reading, Western-themed films, illustrating and spending time with his family.

Campbell was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy; sister, Betty Jean; nephew, Randy; and brother-in-law, Harry Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae; children, Gale, Timothy, Randy-Darren, Wendy-Jill, Jamie-Michelle, Ebony-Janet, Erica, Minerva, Goldie, Stephanie, Stacy, Gema, Melissa, Glenn and Sabrina; daughter-in-law, Sandra; son-in-law, George; grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Sean, James-Darren, Jacqueline, Jasmine, Precious, Cheron, Troy, Jordan, Rodney and Shonda; niece and nephews, Phyllis, Sterling, Toka, Bobby, Nathan, Warren, Kimberly, Jane't, Jessica, Jennifer, Philip, Walter, Jean, Laurie, Aretha and Brandy; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements and visitation were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with a service held at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Forest Green Park Cemetery in Morganville, New Jersey.

Josephine 'Joan' Dooley

Homemaker

Josephine "Joan" Dooley, a Rockaway resident for 62 years coming from Manhattan, died March 8.

Dooley, a homemaker, was born in Manhattan.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Dooley.

Dooley is survived by her husband, James F. Dooley; children, Kathleen O'Connell, John Patrick Dooley, Patricia Pogeweit, Joan Dooley, Mary Ellen Geiger, Kevin Dooley and Maureen Stratton; sister, Geraldine Kruse; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral arrangements and visitation were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Camillus Church in Rockaway Park. Interment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.

Marie C. Doyle

Telephone Operator

Marie C. Doyle, a Rockaway resident for four years coming from the Flatbush/Midwood section of Brooklyn, died March 10.

Doyle, a telephone operator, was born in Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Doyle; and son, James R. Doyle.

Doyle is survived by her son, Kevin Doyle (Marie) of Florida; daughter, Maureen Schwenk; and grandson, Kirk Edward Doyle.

Funeral arrangements and visitation were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church in Belle Harbor. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.

Marie Irene Ebert

Homemaker

Marie Irene Ebert, a Rockaway resident for 75 years coming from Brooklyn, died March 7.

Ebert, a homemaker, was born in Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George.

Ebert is survived by her sons, Joseph, George and John; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home.

Daniel Fitzpatrick

Student

Daniel Fitzpatrick, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died March 13.

Fitzpatrick, a student, was born in Elmhurst, Queens.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel M. Fitzpatrick; and sister, Catherine "Fitzie" Donelan.

Fitzpatrick is survived by his mother, Ruth M. Fitzpatrick-Galligan; stepfather, Frank Galligan; brothers, Dennis Fitzpatrick, Frank Galligan and Kevin Galligan; sister, Mary Pat Hickey; and seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements and visitation were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church in Rockaway Point. Interment was at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn, New York.

Florence Lindner

Housekeeper

Florence Lindner, a Rockaway resident for 70 years coming from White Plains, died March 10.

Lindner, a housekeeper, was born in New York. She was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Church in Rockaway Beach.

Lindner was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Lindner.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Lindner, William Lindner and Theodore Lindner (Lisa).

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home.

LeeAnna Moore

Homemaker, Longtime Resident

LeeAnna Moore, a longtime Rockaway resident affectionately known as "Mama," died March 9. She was 94.

Moore, who was born in Safford, Alabama, devoted her life to Christ and joined the Spring Hill Baptist Church when she was 9 years old. She was a homemaker.

Moore was preceded in death by two of her 10 children, Billy and Barbara; sisters, Lucille Woods and Ulabell Woods Johnson; and a brother, John Woods.

She is survived by her sons, Albert Moore, Ernest Moore, Wesley Moore, Thommie Moore, Oscar Moore and Sullivan (Sal) Moore; daughters, Mattie Moore Singleton and Annie Moore Sanderson; brothers, Minniefield Woods, Wilson Woods, and Ali Woods; sisters, Nella Woods and Mattie Woods Johnson; 37 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with a service at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Pinelawn Cemetery.

Robert G. Poskitt

Elevator Repairman

Robert G. Poskitt, a former Breezy Point resident for nearly 35 years, died March 1 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida. He was 70.

Poskitt, a retired elevator repairman, was formerly a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was a member of the St. Michael the Arch Angel Catholic Church in Florida and a member of the Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520, current treasurer of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and pool emperor at Beacon Point.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anne Poskitt; sons, Robert Poskitt Jr., and Todd Poskitt, both of Queens and Darren Poskitt of Dutchess County, New York; brother, Ted Poskitt of Homosassa, Florida; and five grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Hudson, Florida. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Michael the Arch Angel Catholic Church with Father Raymond Lettre, celebrant.
