PS 225 celebrated the birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss and the 50th anniversary of one of his most famous books, The Cat in the Hat, on March 2.

Students and teachers dressed up as different characters from various Dr. Seuss books. There was a special assembly where "The Cat," aka Principal Melchiorre, read The Cat in the Hat to the students in Pre-K through third grade. The festivities continued in the classrooms, where Dr. Seuss themes were incorporated in to the curriculum. The day ended with a festive birthday party in honor of Dr. Seuss.
