Hadassah Luncheon Celebrates Rockaway Women

To celebrate Women's History Month, Hadassah will host a "Women Who Make History in the Rockaways" luncheon on Tuesday, March 27.

Three women who are greatly involved in the community will be honored at the event for their work and dedication to women's issues and other important programs in the Rockaways. Sara Berger is a past commander of the Jewish War Veterans, a community activist and a Peninsula Hospital blood driver organizer. Barbara Eisenstadt is a past president of the Rockaway Music and Arts Council (RMAC), which offers wonderful summer concerts enjoyed by thousands. The RMAC also sponsors music programs in schools to reach young students. Audrey Pheffer has been serving the Rockaway community as an Assemblywoman for many years, advocating and implementing positive change for the community.

Through their integrity and commitment, these women, and the many more in various organizations, have made the Rockaway community proud.

The Hadassah luncheon will be held at Snug Harbour Restaurant on Beach 108 Street in Rockaway Park. For more information, contact Hadassah President Renee Freeman at 718-474-5732.
