PHC Announces Non-Invasive Screening Tool

Dr. Peter Nelson, Executive Director, and Dr. Alfonso Chan, Chief Medical Officer of the Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, joined members of Peninsula Hospital Center's staff for a tour and demonstration of PHC's new AngioScreen technology. This less than 10-minute, non-invasive screening tool will help individuals determine their risk for heart attack or stroke through an integrated vascular screening. Screening participants will receive color pictures of their arteries at the time of screening to discuss with their physicians and importantly, this technology will allow them to search out the medical intervention they may need to prevent a heart attack or stroke. Peninsula Hospital Center is the hospital affiliate of the Addabbo Family Health Center. The two organizations are collaborating again to improve the health of the Rockaways. Peninsula Hospital Center will be initiating this free screening program in April of 2007 as part of its 100th Anniversary "Century" Celebration.
