It's Finally Snowing!

First Storm Of Year Hits Rockaway

A slow-moving winter 'nor'easter hit Rockaway on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, leaving streets, sidewalks and steps frozen throughout the peninsula. Even the Muni-Meters on Beach 116 Street were frozen solid on Wednesday afternoon. Pictured, a housing complex parking lot is coated with snow from the ground to the cars to the boat. Boat! Well, someone's thinking about spring.
