Meeks To Host Rockaway Town Hall Meeting

On Wednesday, February 21, at 7:00 p.m ., Congressman Gregory W. Meeks of the Sixth Congressional District along with invited local elected officials: New York State Senator and Democratic Leader, Malcolm Smith; New York State Assembly Members, Michelle R. Titus and Audrey I. Pheffer; New York City Council Members, James Sanders Jr. and Joseph Addabbo will host an Inter- Agency Far Rockaway Town Hall Meeting to discuss issues critical to the Far Rockaway community including; Gang Violence, Transportation and Housing.

Meeks has invited the following agencies: New York City Police Department (NYPD), New York City Economic Development Corporation, New York City Department of Education, New York City Housing Preservation and Development, New York City Housing Authority, Human Resources Administration (HRA), Social Security Administration, United States Postal Service, Community Board 14, Rockaway Development and Revitalization Corp. (RDRC), Office of Emergency Management (OEM), Immigration Naturalization Service (INS), Veterans Affairs and the Department of Transportation.

Meeks' district office staff will be on hand to assist constituents. Congressman Meeks' Inter-Agency Congressional Town Hall meetings are free and open to the public.

The Town Hall meeting will be held at the Church of the Nazarene, 1414 Central Avenue at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21.
